The next season of Bravo’s Emmy-nominated series “Vanderpump Rules” may have something in common with “Love Island,” Ariana Madix aside.
New bombshells are entering the villa, a.k.a. West Hollywood’s SUR and TomTom.
That’s because the show, greenlit for Season 12, is getting an all-new cast, Bravo announced on Tuesday. “Vanderpump Rules” will feature a “new group of close-knit SUR-vers who are as complicatedly involved with one another as their iconic predecessors.”
“What a thrill it is to build on the legacy of this series by doing it all over again,” said Alex Baskin, executive producer for 32 Flavors. “With profound appreciation for the original group and their iconic run, we can’t wait for the audience to see a dynamic new group of co-workers and friends make their way through life together.”
Bravo said that, in the show, West Hollywood establishments SUR and TomTom “welcome the next batch of servers, hosts and bartenders rife with plenty of drama, situationships and frenemies” under Lisa Vanderpump’s “watchful eye.”
“Vanderpump Rules,” which began in 2013 as a spinoff of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” garnered mainstream attention last year with “Scandoval,” a play on cast member Tom Sandoval’s last name that refers to when he cheated on Madix with her co-star and friend Rachel Leviss, prompting fans and celebrities to weigh in on the chaos (Jennifer Lawrence told a cutout figure of Sandoval that he has bad skin on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.”)
Madix and Sandoval were “largely not able to film together” in the aftermath of Scandoval, Variety reported.
Sandoval’s woes didn’t end there. He received criticism for comments made earlier this year in an interview with the New York Times Magazine, where he was asked why his cheating scandal “got so big” and compared it to “the O.J. Simpson thing and George Floyd and all these big things.” He later apologized and called his remarks “inappropriate and ignorant,” according to USA TODAY.
Who is joining the ‘Vanderpump Rules’ new cast?
The premiere date and the new cast will be announced at a later date, according to Bravo. Production for the new season will begin next year.
Kristen Doute of ‘Vanderpump’ fame pregnant
Kristen Doute, the infamous personality from earlier seasons of “Vanderpump Rules” who currently stars on spinoff “The Valley,” announced her pregnancy the same day as the “Vanderpump Rules” reboot news.
The reality star (and ex-girlfriend of Sandoval), 41, is expecting her first baby with fiancé Luke Broderick, a rep for Doute confirmed exclusively to PEOPLE.
“After our pregnancy loss last year, we decided to start trying in early 2024,” Doute told PEOPLE. “I knew my age could be a factor in conceiving, so Luke and I discussed going for an extra push, a little help.
“In late summer, we decided to meet with a fertility specialist to learn about our options and what could be the next step if we decided to go that route. The next month was a whirlwind — getting educated on fertility, and eventually hormone shots and preparing my body for IUI (intrauterine insemination),” she continued.
