CHARLOTTE — The Panthers continued to add to their draft inventory for the future on Tuesday, upgrading a pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The team traded wide receiver Diontae Johnson and a sixth-round pick to the Ravens for a fifth-round pick.

The 28-year-old Johnson led the Panthers in receiving through seven games, with 30 catches for 357 yards and three touchdowns. He did not play last week against the Broncos because of an oblique issue.

He was acquired in March in a deal with Pittsburgh of players on expiring contracts, with cornerback Donte Jackson and a sixth-round pick last year going there in exchange for Johnson and a seventh. They subsequently drafted linebacker Michael Barrett with that pick, and eventually traded him to the Seahawks for cornerback Mike Jackson, who has started all eight games this season.

By moving Johnson now, they were able to add the fifth-rounder, which gets them to seven picks in the first five rounds of next year’s draft.

They now have a pick in each of the first four rounds, three fifths, and two seventh-rounders. You can see the full breakdown of their future draft picks here.
